Bury Children and Young People Health Needs Assessment

In 2005 the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) defined a health needs assessment (HNA) as ‘a systematic method for reviewing the health issues facing a population, leading to agreed priorities and resource allocation that will improve health and reduce inequalities'. HNAs are an essential tool to inform commissioning and service planning.

This HNA aims to review the health needs of children and young people in Bury who are aged between 0 and 18. In addition the needs assessment will look in detail at vulnerable groups (those requiring some form of health or social care support e.g. those with learning disabilities, special educational needs etc).
